Thousands of character combinations cannot be automatically corrected. OCR Correction without a suspect/proofing step limits your search power.
Many suspects are numbers. Zeros and O's are often incorrectly substituted by your OCR program. The characters I, l, and 1 pose an even greater challenge. Words and numbers containing these suspects are brought to the editor's attention and are corrected throughout your document.
Proofing leads to higher accuracy when searching for dates, lot/model/serial numbers, etc. As important, incorrectly captured words and phrases could be misleading or offensive. It's in your firm's best interest |
