Step 1 - Text is captured from parent PDF image file. Step 2 - Captured text is "cleaned" using high-speed correction programs. Step 3 - Cleaned file has suspects highlighted for editor intervention. Each color identifies a known suspect type. This helps determine an appropriate corrective action. Step 4 - Suspects are edited. File is spell-checked. Step 5 - File is titled and linked to parent PDF.
Note: Errors are "cleaned" using a fully automated process. Suspects are identified during the subsequent step, but are not changed until an editor intervenes. In the example above, a critical piece of text, Docket No. OOP-1213KPl, is identified as a suspect and is subsequently corrected. If this step had been overlooked, the file would not be found when the actual docket number was used as a search term (00P-1213/CP1). |
